Technologic: Behind the Song

"Technologic" was released in 2005 as the second single from Human After All, the album Daft Punk reportedly wrote and recorded in just six weeks. Built around a vocoded, single-word command structure ("buy it, use it, break it, fix it...") laid over a distorted, almost industrial groove, it was a deliberate change of pace from the disco-funk of Discovery.

Live, it became a structural pillar of Alive 2007 - its mechanical, looping lyric sheet made it perfect material for the tour's continuous-mix format, where it bled into and out of tracks like "Steam Machine" and "Television Rules the Nation."
