The US Tour: Inside the Alive 2007 North American Leg

Daft Punk's American live legend starts on one night: April 29, 2006, at Coachella, where they unveiled the original pyramid stage to a crowd that had no idea what was coming. Footage and word-of-mouth from that single set did more for their live reputation than any press campaign could have - turning a comeback show into a turning point for electronic music as a live genre.

That momentum carried into the full Alive 2007 tour, which brought the now-iconic light-wrapped pyramid to North American venues as part of its wider global route, built around a continuously mixed 90-minute set spanning the entire catalogue rather than a conventional song-by-song setlist.

It remains the only proper North American tour Daft Punk ever ran. Random Access Memories, six years later, would break American chart and radio records without a single supporting date.
