Daft Punk New Album Release Date Information – Random Access Memories
If you’ve ever heard of Coachella, you’ll recognise it as the annual 3 day music and arts festival that takes place in California. It was here that Daft Punk chose to run a sneak preview trailer for their new album, “Random Access Memories”. Those at the festival said that “without warning”, a video lasting just under two-minutes was flashed around the festival on the monster screens around the venues stages.
The video features Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers and the Daft Punk robots rocking out in sparkly outfits. The song you can hear is “Get Lucky,” the main single from the new album. The Coachella crowd were lapping up the sneak preview as people started dancing around whilst grappling for their camera phones to capture the moment.
As you might know Random Access Memories, was made in near-total secrecy, it’s a huge release for the band and is massively anticipated by Daft Punk fans. All this is likely to mean that an announcement of tour dates is just around the corner. Daft Punk may visit Australia in 2013: Rumour
Australia could be on Daft Punk’s hit list in 2013. With rumours abound that the French duo are due to board the tour bus this year we’re hoping that they’ll include Australia on their list of places to visit.
It’s looking like an announcement is unlikely in time for them to make the headlines for festivals in the first half of the year but perhaps they could make it in time for the festivals in the 2nd half of the year. Even without inclusion in the festival circuit tickets for gigs are likely to sell out fast. Be the first to find out about tour dates and venues by signing up to our email list today.
Daft Punk to Tour in 2013: Rumour Mill
The rumour mill has been spinning into overdrive over recent months with several sources stating that Daft Punk WILL tour in 2013 to promote the release of their (rumoured) new album. We don’t have confirmation of a tour just yet but are keeping our ears to the ground and will update you as soon as we know for sure.
BBC Radio 1 DJ and organiser of Bestival (huge festival on the Isle of Wight) recently spoke to eFestivals and said “we got told months ago that Daft Punk were definitely not touring next year, but it keeps the rumour mill going”. He then followed up with “we’ll try and make sure eFestivals gets an exclusive next month, a chance to announce something exciting” – this was back in January 2013, so perhaps February will bring official news of a world-wide tour.
